Daily fantasy sports kingpin Draftkings has announced partnerships with Premier League football clubs Arsenal, Liverpool and Watford ahead of the company’s UK launch in March.
Having originally announced last August that they planned to launch in Britain in October 2015, DraftKings later revealed that they would be delaying their UK opening until later in the year.
It now appears that the company will open for business in this Sceptered Isle in the spring on 2016.
Once it’s active in the UK, Draftkings is hoping to offer contests on the 11 sports currently available in the US and Canada, including American football, golf and e-sports.
As a result of the long-term partnerships with Arsenal, Liverpool and Watford(!), the DFS company will be free to offer supporters a chance to win a host of prizes, ranging from match-day tickets to signed merchandise.
The deals also mean that the Draftkings logo (above) will appear on the pitch-side LED advertising boards inside Anfield Stadium.
As an enthused Draftkings co-founder Jason Robins explained, “The reality in the UK is that DraftKings will bring a totally new experience for sports fans, especially those of Arsenal, Liverpool and Watford.
“We offer our players the opportunity to test their skill at fantasy contests with the immediacy of daily play.
“Our ambition is to bring players as close to the action as possible, with all the information they need to assemble the best teams. To do that, we are partnering with some of the biggest names in football.”
