Paypal ends payment protection for online gambling in the united states
In a recent statement, the platform outlined the changes it is soon to make to its Payment Protection Policy and User Agreement. Said alterations will not only affect buyer and seller protection but will also have an impact upon dispute resolution.
According to the statement, “gambling, gaming and/or any other activity with an entry fee and a prize” will be added to Paypal’s list of “ineligible items” for protection from 25th June.
And it’s not just the US where the changes will take effect with Canada, and Brazil among the other nations due to be affected.
Additionally, payments on other items such as crowdfunding platforms and government agency operators will no longer be eligible for payment protection.
What this means for Paypal’s millions of UK users remains to be seen.
